Sir Humphrey Maud KCMG FRCM: Chairman
A former ambassador to Argentina, then a deputy secretary general of the Commonwealth, Sir Humphrey is chairman of the Commonwealth Disaster Management Agency. He has played the 'cello all his life. After four years in the National Youth Orchestra, he played chamber music in foreign countries in public and private, throughout his foreign service career, reaching areas of society normally denied to ambassadors. He is a pupil of Eileen Croxford Parkhouse.
Jeremy Bradshaw: Secretary
Compliance Director for BP he is responsible for embedding BP’s code of conduct and compliance and ethics programme in BP’s global Exploration and Production business. His work takes him to countries with special economic and social challenges including Russia, Azerbaijan, Angola and South Africa. A keen amateur violinist, he plays regularly with the Kensington Symphony Orchestra and is an active member of its management team.
David Juritz: Founder
South African born, David has lived in London since 1976. He is leader of the London Mozart Players (the UK’s longest established chamber orchestra), artistic director of the Burton Bradstock Festival and leads the London Tango Quintet. He has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician in all the main concert halls of the UK and has performed in North and South America, the Far East, Europe, South Africa and Australia. He regularly writes about issues related to music and has contributed articles to The Strad, Double Bassist and Nature. He recently presented The Asylum Band, a programme about the orchestra of Norfolk Mental Hospital on BBC4. He kickstarted the funds for, and raised awareness of, Musequality by busking Round the World and Bach in 2007.
Rowan Freeland
A solicitor, Rowan is a partner at Simmons & Simmons where he specialises in intellectual property litigation. He is on the board of the London Mozart Players, which is how he met David.
Annabelle Simmons
Annabelle Simmons studied music at Goldsmiths, and Social Anthropology at Cambridge. She has worked as a professional musician, and subsequently in the civil service at the Department for Children, Schools and Families. She now works for the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills.
Joanna Biddolph
A freelance PR consultant, Jo’s background is in politics, lobbying, media relations, crisis management and campaigning. She has written articles about local issues, food profiles and restaurant reviews for her local magazine and welcomes commissions for more restaurant reviews. She met David less than 24 hours before he set off on the final leg of his busking tour, working with his wife Jane to build his programme and gain media coverage in the Far East, South America, the USA, Canada and the UK. Born in India she stands alone amongst the trustees as having no hint of a musical ear, confirmed when she recently tried to learn to play the drums.
