    M-Lisada Brass Band
  • M-Lisada Brass Band, Kampala

  • MLISADA stands for Music, Life Skills, And Destitution Alleviation, and its mission is to reduce the number of children living on the streets and provide opportunities to less privileged children in Kampala. It currently provides shelter for over 75 children and serves a total of 150.

    Elgon Youth Brass Band
  • Elgon Youth Brass Band, Mbale

  • The band was started from scratch by Fredrick Kyewalyanga, who scraped together the instruments and organised practices under a tree. Now a house has been purchased where street children can find food, clothing and safety, while the band is going from strength to strength.

    Tender Talents Magnet School
  • Tender Talents Magnet School, Kampala

  • This is a school for marginalised children in Kasangati, near Kampala. It was set up to offer education and arts training to children who have lost parents and family members to AIDS or are fleeing from war. Musequality helped to get the music programme started and funds a choral training initiative.

    Good Shepherd Home
  • Good Shepherd Home, Mengo slums, Kampala

  • Located in the heart of one of Kampala’s worst slums, this is a residence for disabled adults and children. More than 30 children are now learning to play brass instruments with the help of their good neighbours, M-Lisada, funded by Musequality and Bracknell and Wokingham Community Band.
